Beginner crochet - Comfy Slippers

One thing I know for sure...there is no foot modeling in my future! There IS however, a lot of anticipated time wearing these comfy crocheted slippers!

These are called “60 minute slippers” because you can whip them up in no time. They are super easy when following along with the video. Good luck keeping up without pausing though, Kristi is very fast! You can find the video here, and the written pattern here.

The pattern calls for at least a chunky weight yarn and an H sized crochet hook.

I used about 120 yards of super chunky weight yarn. Look for a number 5, 6 or 7 weight on the label to ensure a bulky/chunky or super chunky yarn.

The slippers are about 9.5” long and the first slipper was a tad snug. I wear a ladies size 10, so I added a 12th row of double crochet (pattern calls for 11), and found it fit perfectly. Seems each row of double crochet adds (or subtracts) about a half size. You will understand what I mean as you are going through the printed instructions and/or the video.

These will be a good gift for family, friends or co-workers. Also, a nice charitable item to make, BUT be sure to add some dots of fabric or puffy paint to the bottom of the sole so there’s no chance of slipping.

Please comment and post photos of your finished slippers below.

Happy hooking!

Kelli
