How many times have you heard, "just say something nice" to each other?
I think my mom had it right when she used to tell my brother, sister and I just that.
It's very gratifying to send a note or make a phone call or pass along a compliment in passing to someone who deserves a pat on the back.
First of all, we don't know what is happening to that person - if they are having a bad day or worry is weighing on their mind - and a kind word may be the only thing they need to get over the hump.
It's easier than ever with the addition of email, Facebook and texting.
