Freecycle - YARN!

Just have to share - I asked for "yarn" about a week ago on Freecycle. I have asked for yarn before, especially when fall rolls around. A few friends and I meet to crochet together and last year we started to crochet baby hats to give away to local hospitals and other charities. We also have a pattern for booties to go along with the hats, but I haven't tried that one yet.

Here is what I got!

Baby yarn from Freecycle

I am so thankful for good and caring people who are willing to give away their own material goods to benefit others. I posted about Freecycle previously and here's proof of the site's value.

This yarn was from one response! I had another respondent who gave me a full trash bag of wool yarn. I will not use the wool, but I am going to give it to my 92 year old grandmother's 98 year old friend who crochets all day long!

See...if you learn to crochet, you could live well into your 90's! YouTube is a great place to start. You can find so many how-to videos there.

Crochet Geek is a YouTube video series which comes to mind. She shows step-by-step instructions about learning to crochet, http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/2008/09/blog-post_03.html. She also shows different stitches and projects. Leave me a comment letting me know if you try any of them along with a photo of your  finished project.

Have a great weekend!
